Developing mechanisms by which, we can effectively collect and process the necessary structural and environmental information for bridge monitoring to be more effectively carried out. Enabling delivery of more effective SHM systems, which can be practically implemented, given measurement environment constraints, and are resilient to real-world sensing conditions.

MEng Project: “Improved Sensing Systems for Bridge Structural Health Monitoring”
Design, Implementation and Testing of a self-contained retrofittable embedded sensor system for the remote monitoring and analysis of bridge structure vibrations. Utilising a range of technologies including accelerometers, GPS timestamping, LoRaWAN remote management and backhaul capabilities integrated within a custom mixed signal PCB design.
